Landing pages are pages you build yourself with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, such as "Become a partner", served at your directory's address, for example partners.acme.com/become-a-partner. You create them in Customizations > Landing pages, and you can add your partner application form to them. This article is for vendors.

Who can do this: Admin role (Managers can view landing pages and open previews) · Availability: available on request: contact PartnerPage support to turn it on

Landing pages are different from the ready-made Landing page in Branding and layout, a marketing page at /home with fixed sections. For that page, see Change page layouts and sections.

Create a landing page

To create a landing page:

  1. In your directory's sidebar, click Customizations, then Landing pages.

  2. Click Create landing page.

  3. In Title, enter the page's name, up to 250 characters. The page's address follows the title, for example "become-a-partner".

  4. In HTML, paste or write the page's content.

  5. Optionally, under Styles and scripts, add Custom CSS and Custom JS for this page.

  6. Under Visibility, choose Public to publish the page, or keep Hidden while you work on it.

  7. Under Layout, keep Show directory navbar and Show directory footer ticked to wrap the page in your directory's navigation bar and footer, or untick them.

  8. Click Save.

The page opens with "Added" and its title. A new page starts Hidden unless you choose Public.

Add the partner application form

When partner applications are on for your directory, you can put the application form inside your page:

  1. In the HTML field, place the cursor where the form should go.

  2. Click Insert application form.

This adds <partnerpage-application-form></partnerpage-application-form> to your HTML, and the directory shows the application form in its place. A page holds one form, so the button is greyed out once the tag is there. Applications sent from the page arrive in Partner applications, like any other. See Managing Partner Applications.

Set the address and search engine listing

The Search engine listing card shows how the page could look in search results. Click the pencil icon to change:

  • Page title: the page's title in search results and the browser tab, up to 70 characters. Without one, the title is the page's Title followed by your directory's title.

  • Meta description: the summary under the title in search results, up to 160 characters.

  • Address: the part after your directory's address, up to 100 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. The full address shows under the field.

An address can't be one your directory already uses, such as home, apply, matchmaking, get-listed or preview, the word in your partner profile addresses, or a language code such as fr. You see "Address is used by a built-in directory page" or "Address is already used by another landing page" if it is. Public landing pages are added to your directory's sitemap. See How search engines index your directory.

Preview a hidden page

A Hidden landing page doesn't open for visitors. To see it:

  1. Open the page in Landing pages.

  2. Click Preview.

The page opens in a new tab through a preview link that works for one hour. Anyone who has the link can open the page during that hour, so share it only with people who should see the draft. For a Public page, the button reads View page.

How landing pages run your code

Landing pages follow these rules on your public directory:

  • HTML is shown as written, inside your directory's navigation bar and footer if you keep them.

  • Custom CSS applies to this page.

  • Scripts in your HTML run after your directory's custom scripts, and Custom JS runs last, so your page can use tools you've added in CSS and JS. See Add custom CSS and scripts.

  • A landing page always loads as a full page, so its scripts run every time a visitor opens it.

Change or delete a landing page

To change a landing page, open it in Landing pages, make the change and click Save. You see "Landing page saved". To hide a published page, set Visibility to Hidden and save.

To delete a landing page, open it, click Delete page and confirm. You see "Landing page deleted". Deleting a page can't be undone, and its address shows "Page not found" afterwards.

Common questions

Why can't I see Landing pages in Customizations?

Landing pages appears when PartnerPage support has turned the feature on for your directory. Admins and Managers see it; only Admins can create and change pages.

Why don't I see Insert application form?

The Insert application form button appears only when partner applications are on for your directory. Partner applications are on by default; if they were switched off, contact PartnerPage support.

Can I use a landing page as my directory's home page?

No. A landing page lives at its own address after your directory's address. Your directory page stays at the directory's main address.
