The Partner contacts card on a partner's page in Partners lists the people at that partner who can edit the profile and receive its contact requests. You add people, manage invitations and take people off the list there; the partner can't change the list. This article is for vendors who run a directory.
Who can do this: Admin and Manager roles · Availability: all directories. Resend and Copy invite link need partner invitations, available on request: contact PartnerPage support to turn them on.
How Partner contacts works
Partner contacts starts open and becomes a list you choose the first time you remove someone:
Before anyone at the partner joins. A profile you added yourself belongs to no partner company until someone accepts an invitation to it. Until then, Partner contacts shows only pending invitations, and contact requests for the profile reach no one at the partner. Your team still sees them in Contact requests.
Everyone, by default. Once a partner company owns the profile, everyone at that company is a partner contact, including people who join the company later. PartnerPage staff are never partner contacts.
A list you choose. The first time you click Remove next to someone, the profile switches to a list you control. Everyone else at the company stays on it, and from then on only people you add join it. New teammates at the partner aren't added automatically.
Off the list means no access. On a list you choose, people who aren't on it can't see the profile in their dashboard and get none of its contact request emails.
If you remove everyone, the card warns "Leads for this profile reach nobody."
Who receives contact request emails
Contact request emails for a profile go to its partner contacts whose role can open contact requests. These emails cover new contact requests, the reminders you send with Send reminder or Ask for an update, and closing or reassigning a request when you tick Notify the partner. The following table shows which roles at the partner receive them.
Partner company type | Roles that receive contact request emails |
Software company | Admin, Manager, Profile Manager |
Service provider | Admin, Profile Manager |
Partner contacts with other roles, such as Member or Branding, don't receive them. Partners can't switch these emails off themselves: the Partner contacts list and each person's role decide who gets them. Deal registration emails go to everyone in the partner's company and aren't limited by Partner contacts.
Add people to a profile
Adding people to Partner contacts gives them access to the profile. To add people:
In Partners, click the partner's name.
In the Partner contacts card, click Add contacts.
In Email addresses, enter one or more email addresses.
Optionally write a Message, up to 500 characters, for the invitation email.
Click Add contacts.
People who already belong to the partner's company on PartnerPage are added straight away, without an email: you see "Contacts added". Everyone else gets an invitation email with your message and shows as "Invited" with the date: you see "Invitations sent". When an invited person accepts, they join the list, even if it's a list you chose.
PartnerPage doesn't add addresses that are already invited, waiting for the partner's approval, or belong to PartnerPage: the Add partner contacts window lists them under "Some contacts were not added". All addresses must belong to the same company; otherwise you see "Not all emails are from the same organization" or "Some users belong to a different organization than the entry owner".
Manage pending invitations
Pending invitations show in Partner contacts as "Invited" with the date. To manage one, click the three-dot menu next to the person:
Resend emails the invitation again. You see "Invitation resent".
Copy invite link copies the invitation link so you can send it yourself. You see "Link copied".
Remove invitation stops the link from working. You can invite the person again later.
Resend and Copy invite link appear when partner invitations are on for your directory. If you click Resend on an invitation that was accepted or removed in the meantime, the card shows "Invitation not resent"; if you remove one that was already accepted, it shows "Invitation already accepted".
Take someone off the list
Removing someone from Partner contacts ends their access to this profile only. To remove a person:
In Partners, click the partner's name.
In Partner contacts, click the three-dot menu next to the person.
Click Remove, then Remove again to confirm.
You see "Contact removed". The person can no longer edit the profile or receive its contact requests, and any pending invitation of theirs to the profile is cancelled. Their PartnerPage account and their access to other profiles don't change. The first removal on a profile switches it to a list you choose, as described in "How Partner contacts works".
People waiting for the partner's approval
A row that says "Waiting for" followed by the partner's name is someone you invited who has asked to join the partner's company account on PartnerPage and is waiting for the partner to approve the request. The partner approves join requests in Settings > Team. Until then, the row has no menu.
Common questions
A partner says a colleague doesn't get contact request emails. Why?
The colleague either isn't on the profile's Partner contacts list, or has a role that can't open contact requests, such as Member. Add them with Add contacts, or ask the partner's Admin to change their role in Settings > Team.
Can a partner manage their own Partner contacts list?
No. Only your team manages Partner contacts. A partner's Admin manages their own company's team and roles in Settings > Team.
