Block sender stops contact requests and matchmaking requests from one email address in your directory. PartnerPage drops that sender's later submissions without telling them, and you unblock the address in Customizations > Configuration > Blocked senders. This article also covers the other spam protections on your directory's forms. It is for vendors who run a directory.

Who can do this: Admin and Manager roles block senders from contact requests; Admins block from matchmaking requests and unblock in Configuration · Availability: all directories with contact requests or matchmaking requests (available on request: contact PartnerPage support)

Block a sender

To block a sender from a contact request or a matchmaking request:

  1. Open the request in Contact requests or Matchmaking requests.

  2. On the Customer details card, click Block sender.

  3. Read the confirmation and click Block sender.

You can also block while closing a request: in the Close contact request or Close matchmaking request dialog, choose the reason Spam, and keep Also block this sender ticked.

After you block a sender, the Customer details card says "This sender is blocked: new requests from this address to this directory are not created."

What happens when you block a sender

  • Later submissions are dropped. The sender's contact and matchmaking requests to this directory aren't created. The sender sees the normal "Thank you!" page and gets no message about the block. Nobody at your company or at the partner is emailed.

  • Open requests close as Spam. The sender's contact requests still awaiting the partner, and their matchmaking requests still New, close with the reason Spam, in your name.

  • Answered requests stay as they are. Contact requests a partner already accepted or declined, and matchmaking requests already assigned, don't change.

  • Only this directory. The block applies to the directory where you blocked the address, and only to that exact address.

Unblock a sender

  1. Go to Customizations > Configuration.

  2. In the Blocked senders card, find the address. Each row shows who blocked it and when.

  3. Click the x next to the address.

  4. Click Unblock sender.

Requests from that address are created again. Requests that closed when you blocked the sender stay closed.

The daily limit on contact requests

The contact form on a partner's profile accepts up to 5 contact requests from the same email address per directory in 24 hours. The sixth attempt shows "You've reached the daily limit for contact requests. Please try again tomorrow." The limit counts requests to every partner in the directory, including partners you later deleted. Matchmaking requests have no daily limit.

Other protections on your forms

  • reCAPTCHA: the contact, matchmaking, partner application, deal registration and review forms check reCAPTCHA before they accept a submission. No setup is needed.

  • Business email only: PartnerPage can make the contact, matchmaking, partner application and deal registration forms refuse free email addresses, such as personal webmail. Visitors who use one see "A valid business email address is required". This option is available on request: contact PartnerPage support to turn it on.

What you can't do

  • Block a whole email domain or company. Blocking works per email address. To keep out free email domains, ask PartnerPage support for the business-email-only option.

  • Block senders of deal registrations, partner applications or reviews. Block sender covers contact requests and matchmaking requests only. Decline the deal registration, application or review instead.

  • Tell the sender they're blocked. PartnerPage never notifies a blocked sender.
