Every partner profile in your directory has one status that decides whether visitors can find it and open its page. Vendors set the status on the partner's page in Partners; partners can see their status but can't change it.

The four statuses at a glance
The following table lists what each partner profile status means for visitors to your directory.
Status | Listed in your directory | Profile page opens | Typical use |
Public | Yes, for every visitor | Yes | Live partners. |
Searchable | Only in results when a visitor searches or uses a filter | Yes | Partners you want findable but not on the default listing. |
Hidden | No | No: the page shows "Page not found" | Profiles that aren't ready yet. New profiles start Hidden. |
Inactive | No | No: the page shows "Page not found" | Partners who left your program or are paused, kept for your records. |
Public status
A Public partner profile is listed in your directory for every visitor and its page opens from the listing, from search and from a direct link. Public is the only status that appears in the Featured section.
Searchable status
A Searchable partner profile doesn't appear on your directory's default listing. It appears only in the results when a visitor types a search or picks a filter, and its page opens from those results or from a direct link. Use Searchable for partners you want people to be able to find without promoting them.
Hidden status
A Hidden partner profile isn't listed anywhere and its page shows "Page not found" to visitors. Profiles from invitations, partner applications and Get Listed always start Hidden. A profile you add yourself also starts Hidden unless you choose another Status when you add it. The profile stays Hidden until you change its status. The partner and your team can still open a preview of a Hidden profile.
Inactive status
An Inactive partner profile is switched off: it isn't listed and its page shows "Page not found", exactly like a Hidden profile. The difference is only the label, which helps you tell partners you have retired (Inactive) from profiles still being prepared (Hidden). The profile, its contacts and its history are kept, and you can make it Public again at any time. See Remove a partner from your directory.
Change a partner's status
To change a partner profile's status:
In Partners, click the partner's name.
In Profile settings, choose a Status: Hidden, Inactive, Public or Searchable.
Click Save.
The status you chose shows next to the partner's name and in the Status column of Partners. The button at the top of the partner's page reads View profile for a listed profile and Preview profile for one that isn't.
You change statuses one partner at a time in the dashboard; there is no bulk status change on the Partners list. Developers can also set a partner's status through the PartnerPage API.
Who can change a partner's status
Only the vendor, the company that runs the directory, can change a partner profile's status: people on your team with the Admin or Manager role. Members can see the status but not change it. Partners see their status as a badge on their profile in their own dashboard, but can't change it; when a partner asks why their profile is hidden, point them to Why is my profile hidden?.
Find partners by status
The Partners list has a view for each status: All, Public, Hidden, Searchable and Inactive, plus Ready for review for Get Listed profiles that partners have submitted (or Pending review when profile approval is on). You can also filter by Status and click Export to download the filtered list as a CSV.
Featured partners, tiers and status
Featured and Tier sit next to Status in Profile settings, and both are available on request. Neither one changes whether a profile is listed:
Featured set to Yes adds the partner to the Featured section of your directory. Only Public partners appear in the Featured section, so a featured partner that is Hidden, Inactive or Searchable isn't shown there.
Tier groups and ranks partners. The tier shows on the partner's card and is used when visitors sort by tier, but a partner's tier has no effect on whether the profile is listed.
Common questions
What is the difference between Public and Searchable?
A Public partner profile appears on your directory's default listing; a Searchable profile appears only when a visitor searches or uses a filter. Both profile pages open for visitors.
What is the difference between Hidden and Inactive?
Visitors can't see a Hidden or an Inactive partner profile: neither is listed and both pages show "Page not found". Use Hidden for profiles that aren't ready yet and Inactive for partners you have switched off.
Why does a partner's profile page say "Page not found"?
A partner profile page shows "Page not found" when the profile's status is Hidden or Inactive. Set the status to Public or Searchable to make the page open.
Can a partner see their profile while it's Hidden?
Yes. A partner can preview a Hidden or Inactive profile from View public profile in their own dashboard, and you can preview it from Preview profile on the partner's page.
Does the status affect the internal directory?
No. The internal directory, available on request, lists partners whose Internal directory setting is Yes, whatever their status.
