Change page layouts and sections

Choose and set up the sections on each directory page, such as the navigation bar, hero, featured partners and footer, in the Layout tab.

The Layout tab in Customizations > Branding and layout lists the sections that make up each page of your public directory, from the navigation bar to the footer. You choose what each section shows and, on some plans, which kind of section goes in each place. This article is for vendors who run a directory.

Who can do this: Admin role (Managers can open the Layout tab but can't save changes) · Availability: all directories. Turning sections on or off, changing a section's type, and the Second section and Last section of the directory page need the Growth or Enterprise plan.

How page layouts work

Each page of your directory is built from a fixed set of places for sections, top to bottom. Some places take a section you design (the navigation bar, footer, hero and your own code). Others hold a PartnerPage section that you can adjust but not replace, such as the partner list. The Navigation bar and Footer are shared by every page; a link icon next to them warns that "Changes to this element will affect multiple pages".

The following table lists the sections on each page, in order.

Edit a section

To change a section on a page:

  1. In Customizations > Branding and layout, pick the page from the list at the top, for example Directory.

  2. Open the Layout tab. Pointing at a section in the list highlights it in the preview.

  3. Click the section, for example First section.

  4. On the Growth and Enterprise plans, use the Display toggle to show or hide the section, and choose its type.

  5. Change the fields under Settings. Reset to defaults puts back the default content.

  6. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

Section types you can choose

The navigation bar, footer, hero and last sections take one of these section types. On the Free plan you edit the type that's already there.

Advanced ("Write your own code")

Navigation bar, footer, First, Second and Last sections

Your own HTML in HTML code. For a navigation bar, also whether it's fixed and its height, so automatic scrolling doesn't hide content under it.

Custom CSS from Customizations > CSS and JS styles the content of your Advanced sections. See Add custom CSS and scripts.

Adjust the fixed sections

The fixed sections keep PartnerPage's content and let you change its wording and background:

  • Featured section (directory page): Title (default "Featured partners", up to 100 characters) and Background. See Feature partners on your directory.

  • Main section (directory page): the Title above the partner list; a Matchmaking card with its title, description, introduction, image and button label when matchmaking is on; and a Request link under the filters with a Heading, Link text and Link address. Leave the request link empty to hide it.

  • Header section and Main section (partner profile): Background. With profile section ordering, available on request, the Main section also lets you drag the order of the sidebar and main column sections. See Reorder sections on partner profiles.

  • Main section of each form page: Background, plus a Title on the partner application form. When custom forms are on, a banner links to the form's fields (Customize this form).

  • Main section of each success page: Title, Message and an optional Return link, which replaces "Back to directory" with a "Back to website" button.

Backgrounds are Surface, Surface secondary or Custom (a hex color).

Common questions

Can I add more sections to a page?

Each page has a fixed set of places for sections, so you can't add more. On the Growth and Enterprise plans, the directory page has two extra places, Second section and Last section, for your own HTML. For a page you design from scratch, see Create landing pages.

Why don't I see the Display toggle?

The Display toggle, which switches a section on or off and changes its type, is on the Growth and Enterprise plans. On the Free plan you can still edit the settings of the sections already on the page.

How do I change where the logo links to?

Open the Navigation bar section and enter your website's address in Logo URL. Leave Logo URL empty to link the logo to your directory's home page.
