Filter maps add a filter option to partner profiles automatically: when a profile has any of the options you choose as conditions, it also gets the mapped option. You set them up in Filter maps, in your directory's sidebar. This article is for vendors.

How filter maps work
A filter map has three parts:
Filter mapping name: a name for your team, such as "Marketing from products".
Filter option: the option PartnerPage adds to profiles. It can come from any of your filters.
Conditions: one or more options, from any of your filters, that trigger the map.
For example, your directory has a "Product" filter with the options "Email" and "SMS", and a "Category" filter with the option "Marketing". A map with Filter option "Marketing (Category)" and Conditions "Email (Product)" and "SMS (Product)" gives "Marketing" to every partner who picks Email or SMS.
Filter maps follow these rules:
They work on existing profiles too. When you save a map, every profile that already has one of its conditions gets the option.
They follow the profile. When a profile no longer has any of the map's conditions, the mapped option comes off. An option a partner picked by hand always stays.
They work on partner and app profiles.
Maps can chain. If a map adds an option that is a condition in another map, that second map adds its option too.
One map per option. Each option can be the Filter option of only one map. To add more triggers, add them to that map's Conditions.
What visitors and partners see
For visitors, a mapped option works like any other option. The partner appears when a visitor filters by it, the option's name counts in searches, and the option shows on the profile page if the filter is displayed on profiles.
In the Filters card of a profile, mapped options show as greyed-out tags under "Options inherited from other filters:". Pointing at a tag shows why it's there, for example: This option is active because option "Email (Product)" is selected. Partners can't remove a mapped option by hand; it goes away when the profile no longer has the conditions. Your team sees the same tags on the partner's page in Partners.
Create a filter map
To create a filter map:
In your directory's sidebar, click Filter maps.
Click Create filter map.
In Filter mapping name, enter a name, up to 35 characters.
In Filter option, choose the option to add. Options are grouped by filter; an option that another map already adds is greyed out.
In Conditions, choose the options that trigger the map.
Check the Preview card. It reads, for example, "Marketing (Category) will be automatically assigned to an entry if any of the below filters options are assigned:", followed by your conditions.
Click Save.
The map's page opens, and matching profiles get the option. A directory can have up to 70 filter maps.
Fill a filter only through filter maps
When filter maps are on, every filter has an Allow user assignment option under Option assignment settings in Filters. Untick it to fill that filter only through filter maps:
Nobody picks the filter's options by hand, neither partners nor your team. The filter shows greyed out on profiles, with its mapped options as tags.
When you save the filter with Allow user assignment unticked, the options partners and your team already picked by hand in that filter are removed from their profiles. Options added by filter maps stay.
Selection is required and Users can assign are greyed out for that filter.
Use this for a summary filter, such as "Category", that should always follow what partners pick in other filters. Leave Allow user assignment ticked if partners should also pick options themselves; maps then add options on top of theirs. See Set up search filters.
Change or delete a filter map
To change a filter map, open it in Filter maps, make the change and click Save. Changing the Conditions updates profiles straight away: profiles with an added condition get the option, and profiles left with none of the conditions lose it.
Changing a map's Filter option doesn't update profiles that already matched the map. Those profiles keep the old option, and they get the new option only when one of the map's conditions is next added to them.
To delete a filter map, open it, click Delete filter map and confirm. You see "Filter map deleted". Deleting a filter map can't be undone, and it doesn't take the option off profiles that already got it through the map. Those profiles keep the option on your directory, but the Filters card no longer shows it as an inherited tag, so nobody can remove it in the dashboard. If you need the option removed from those profiles, contact PartnerPage support before or after you delete the map.
Drag the rows in Filter maps to change the order of the list. The order doesn't change how maps work.
Common questions
Why didn't a partner get the mapped option?
A partner gets the mapped option only when their profile has at least one of the map's Conditions saved. Check the conditions on the map and the options on the partner's profile in Partners. If the partner had already picked the option by hand, it shows as their own choice rather than as an inherited tag.
Can I remove a mapped option from one partner?
Not by hand. Remove the condition options from that partner's profile, or change the map's Conditions, and the mapped option comes off.
Can partners see filter maps?
Partners don't see your filter maps. They only see the inherited options as greyed-out tags in their Filters card.
