Your directory collects five kinds of submissions: contact requests, matchmaking requests, deal registrations, partner applications and Get Listed sign-ups. Each one travels a different way between visitors, your team and your partners. This article explains who sends each one, who sees it and who gets an email. It is for vendors who run a directory.

Who can do this: Admin and Manager roles see contact requests, matchmaking requests and partner applications; deal registrations are also visible to the Member role · Availability: contact requests, matchmaking requests and deal registrations are available on request: contact PartnerPage support to turn them on. Partner applications are on by default, and Get Listed works in every directory.

Contact requests: a visitor asks one partner

A contact request is a message a visitor sends to one partner through the contact form on the partner's profile. The form opens from the Contact button on profiles that visitors can open (Public or Searchable).

  • Who is emailed: the people at the partner who receive contact requests (set by the profile's Partner contacts list and their role), and everyone on your team who has New contact form submissions switched on. If nobody has claimed the profile yet, only your team is emailed.

  • What the partner does: accepts or declines the request in their dashboard and, where project status is on, reports progress.

  • What your team does: follows every request in Contact requests, sends reminders, reassigns or closes requests. See Oversee contact requests.

Matchmaking requests: a visitor asks you to find a partner

A matchmaking request is a message a visitor sends to your team when they want help choosing a partner. Visitors open the form, "Get matched with the right partner", from the matchmaking card in your directory listing or from the matchmaking page of your directory.

  • Who is emailed: everyone on your team who has New matchmaking form submissions switched on.

  • What your team does: in directories with partner assignment (also available on request), an Admin assigns one or more partners in Matchmaking requests. Each assigned partner receives the request as a contact request, with the usual contact request email, and the matchmaking request moves to Assigned. Partners don't see which other partners received the same request.

Deal registrations: a partner brings you a deal

A deal registration is a prospect a partner registers with you so that you can approve the deal. Partners register deals in their dashboard under Deal registration > Register a deal, or share a deal registration link that opens the same form without a login.

  • Who is emailed: your team members who can view deal registrations, and the partner's team.

  • What your team does: opens the deal registration in Deal registrations and clicks Approve or Decline. The partner's team gets an email with the decision.

Partner applications and Get Listed: companies ask to join

Partner applications and Get Listed both bring companies into your directory, in different ways:

  • Partner application: a company fills in your Apply form (copy its address with Copy Apply link in Partner applications). Your team decides with Accept or Decline on the application's page. Accepting creates a Hidden profile and emails the applicant an invitation to it; declining sends no email. PartnerPage doesn't email your team when an application arrives, so check Partner applications regularly. See Managing Partner Applications.

  • Get Listed: a company signs up through your Get Listed link and creates its own profile, which starts Hidden. Your team gets an email when the profile is created. See Publish new profiles from Get Listed.

Who sees what

  • Visitors see only the forms and a "Thank you!" page. PartnerPage doesn't send visitors a confirmation email after a contact request, matchmaking request or partner application, and never tells them about decisions on their request.

  • Partners see the contact requests and deal registrations for their own profile, in their dashboard. They don't see your matchmaking requests or other partners' requests.

  • Your team sees everything in the directory's sidebar, depending on each person's role.

Common questions

What is the difference between a contact request and a matchmaking request?

A contact request goes straight from a visitor to the partner they picked. A matchmaking request goes to your team first, because the visitor wants you to pick a partner for them; it reaches a partner only when you assign one, and then arrives at the partner as a contact request.

Can a partner register a deal for a prospect who never visited the directory?

Yes. A deal registration doesn't need a visitor: the partner enters the prospect's details themselves, in their dashboard or through their deal registration link.

Which emails can my team switch off?

Each person chooses in Notifications in the user menu. See Who gets which email.
